  1. The Awethu Project Incubator (Pty) Ltd (the “Awethu Project”) and all the subsidiaries forming a part of the Awethu Project group of companies (the “Awethu Group”) are committed to the integrity and confidentiality of all its professional relationships. We thus actively seek to protect the privacy and confidentiality of all of our client relationships.
  2. The Awethu Project has and seeks to improve the means of safeguarding all information acquired from the users of the Awethu Project website. This includes refraining from unduly and illegally distributing personal information of the users of the website and of any other Awethu Project client.
  3. By using the Awethu Project website, the user accepts the terms of this Policy Statement and consents to the collection, processing, further processing and storage of his/ her personal information as contemplated in this Policy Statement.


  1. The Awethu Group may acquire personal information of its clients and / or users of any of its products and services.
  2. For the purpose of this Policy Statement, personal information may include the client and/ or user’s name, date of birth, identity number, address, contact details, business information and business financial information, details of transactions with Awethu Group clients.
  3. The extent of personal information collected by the Awethu Group is subject to the nature of the interaction with the users of the Awethu Project website, the products and services offered by the Awethu Group, legislative prescripts to which the entities in the Awethu Group are bound, the reporting requirements by the entities in the Awethu Group to their respective stakeholders as well any promotional endeavours by the Awethu Group, from time to time.
  4. Aligned with the afore-said, personal information collected may be used, transferred and disclosed for inter alia the following purposes:
    1. Verifying clients’ identity;
    2. Rendering of services;
    3. Detecting and preventing fraud;
    4. Compliance with relevant laws, including but not limited to the FAIS Act, the FIC Act, as enacted, amended and replaced from time to time;
    5. Adhering to reporting requirements of investors and similar stakeholders;
    6. Contributing towards the Awethu Project’s improvement of its products and services.


  1. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Policy Statement, the Awethu Group values and respects its clients’ and website users’ right to privacy and confidentiality of personal information.
  2. In line with the above, the Awethu Group undertakes not to sell or exchange personal information with any third party outside of the Awethu Group. However, the Awethu Group reserves the right to disclose or report personal information, in limited circumstances, where it is believed in good faith, that disclosure is required by law, to protects its right or property or to disclose information on reasonable request by investors and/ or other primary stakeholders.
  3. Only authorised Awethu Group employees or agents have access to clients’ and users’ personal information – to the extent as it is such remains relevant to the execution of the Awethu Group’s obligations from time to time.
  4. All of the Awethu Group employees, service providers and marketing partners are bound by stringent standards of privacy and security and by enforceable confidentiality provisions.


  1. The Awethu Group is committed to information security to protect the privacy of all personal information that it gains access to, processes and stores.
  2. In effecting the above, all reasonable steps are taken to protect all personal information, including, but not limited to the use of encryption technology. Despite this, the Awethu Group is not in a position to guarantee the security of any information transmitted electronically – all Awethu Group clients and users of the Awethu Project website do so at their own risk.


  1. The Awethu Project is taking all reasonable endeavours to ensure the accuracy of the information contained in this Policy Statement. However, the Awethu Group does not guarantee the accuracy of the information or that such information will remain accurate as technology changes.
  2. The Awethu Group shall not be liable for any losses suffered or damages incurred from reliance placed on any provisions of this Policy Statement. The Awethu Group reserves the right to amend this Policy Statement at any time. All amendments shall be posted on the Awethu Project website.
