If you have ambition, we’ve got an opportunity for you

Awethu runs three separate programmes that cater for different kinds of entrepreneurs so that we can meet you where you are on your journey.

Currently, our focus is on early-stage entrepreneurs that need practical training, mentorship and investment to start or grow a small business. If this is you, please apply below!

If you’re a more established entrepreneur running an SMME or an aspiring industrialist looking for investment and support, please keep an eye on this page - we will be re-opening these tracks later this year.

If you need to meet with us sooner, apply below and we’ll connect you with the right people on our team

Why is the incubator only open to Gauteng?

We currently only have offices based in Johannesburg and all participants need to be available and able to attend weekly meetings and mentorship sessions at our office.

We hope to expand countrywide in the future.

If I applied last year and missed my Launch Pad event, can I apply again?

Yes, please apply again.

Can I apply if I have a full-time job?

Yes, if you know you can commit to 3-4 hours of in-person training and mentorship each week for 22 weeks.

Do I need to have any formal qualifications to apply?

No, you do not need a matric or any other qualifications to apply.

Do I remain the sole owner of my business?

Yes, your business remains 100% yours.

What kind of business or business idea do I need to have?

It doesn't matter – you can come to us with any business/business idea.

If you're unsure of where to start, we'll guide and support you. However, there is a bias towards trading. If you startup a new business, it needs to be trading within 6 weeks in order for you to remain in the programme.
